You Are Not Struggling. You Are Undertrained.
Hey, I’m Maya - and sit with me for a minute, because we need to have a proper chat.
A real one.
The kind every baby nail tech wishes someone had with them at the start.
You know that feeling when you’re sitting at your desk thinking:
“Why is this taking me forever?”
“Why does everyone else make it look so easy?”
“What exactly am I doing wrong?”
And people give you those useless lines like:
“Just practice more!”
“Trust the process!”
“Confidence will come!”
No.
Let’s stop sugarcoating it.
Here’s the honest truth most people avoid saying:
You’re not struggling.
You’re undertrained.
And I’m not judging you - I’ve lived it.
More times than I want to admit.
I blamed the lamp, blamed the brush, blamed the product…
Meanwhile the real issue was staring at me:
I wasn’t taught the actual skills I needed for real clients.
Let’s break this down.
Most beginner courses give you the minimum.
Just enough for a certificate.
Not enough for a real salon environment.
They don’t teach you:
how to make cuticle work clean AND safe
how to prep so the nails last 4+ weeks
how to shape quickly without creating bulk
how to handle damaged nails, weak nails, flat nails, ski-jumps
how to decide when a client needs BIAB vs hard gel
how to work under pressure when someone shows up late
how to stop shaking when a client stares at you
how to actually run a business, not just paint nails
how to run an Instagram/Facebook page
And then suddenly you’re in front of a real client with real nail issues and real expectations…
And you wonder why you feel lost.
It’s not you.
You were simply never given the tools.
Confidence doesn’t create skill. Skill creates confidence.
When you know exactly what you’re doing - confidence shows up automatically.
Not from affirmations.
Not from manifesting.
Not from perfectionism.
From skill.
The kind of skill that makes clients trust you instantly.
The kind that makes your sets last.
The kind that makes you work faster without stress.
The kind that stops you doubting every step you take.
You’re not slow, you’re learning from the wrong foundation.
And this is the part no one says loud enough:
You’re not slow - you’re figuring out what you weren’t taught properly.
You’re not “not good enough” - you just need clearer guidance.
You’re not falling behind - you’re trying to build skills with missing pieces.
Your struggle isn’t a personal failure - it’s an education gap.
And guess what? Undertrained is fixable.
That’s literally why I teach the way I teach now - through both my Upskilling Manuals and my face-to-face training.
Because real-life skills need real explanations.
Real examples.
Real context.
Not just theory or “you’ll pick it up with practice.”

My manuals are designed for the nail tech who wants the info now - simple, straight to the point, packed with the “why” behind every step, not just the “how.”
No fluff.
Just clarity.

And my in-person training?
That’s where everything clicks.
Where you see the pressure, the pace, the troubleshooting, the tiny details you can’t learn from a course that lasted four hours and used perfect models.
It’s where you walk away thinking:
“Oh. Now this finally makes sense.”
So remember this.
You’re not behind.
You’re not failing.
You’re not “bad at nails.”
You just need the right education - the kind that actually prepares you for real clients, real nails, and real growth.
Once the foundations are there?
Everything else becomes easier.
